10% Discount for Facebook Friends
April 1, 2012 by gwionllwyd · 1 Comment
I’m trying to build up a facebook community around our accommodation here on the farm. I’m hoping to keep people informed about farm news, special offers etc.. But also create a forum where people can discuss their holidays. Suggest things to do, places to eat, places to visit as well as places to avoid.
To get things going we’d like to offer a 10% discount off any stay in Melin, our largest studio cottage, to anybody kind enough to hit the like Byrdir Farmhouse and Studio Cottages button below. You also have to promise to write a short line or two on our wall about your holiday when you get back. A restaurant that you’d recommend for example. Offer runs between now and the 8th of July. Quote ‘Facebook Friend’ on your enquiry.

We both wanted to say,
Thank you for such a warm welcome from both of you, when we stayed at your farm in one of the self catering barns.
We were made to feel very welcome by you and it was fantastic to have a cooked breakfast, (which we haven’t had on holiday in ages) you helped – and catered for us – with our food sensitivities too and that was very much appreciated – we did not feel out of place at all.
The barn was extremely well equipped for two people (even had a dishwasher!) fantastic power shower and fab TV . The bed was extremely comfortable and supportive which was great as we both have back problembs, and great, thoughtful touches, such as a blind on the velux roof window, which was great for when we wanted to have a lie-in. Thank you, also, for the use of your freezer for our frozen food (due to our food sensitivities).
The barn was immaculately clean and had lovely underfloor heating and a cosy log burner, where the chimney goes straight up through the celling, radiating heat and making the mezzanine bedroom really tostie!
It was great to have a welcome basket in the kitchen and bathroom too.
We were kept entertained, in the evenings, by your sheep dog, who loved to play sticks, the ducks/geese also kept us company and we could stroke the pigs and rabits. One evening two ‘escaped’ lambs decided that they wanted to eat some tasty flowers, from the flower beds – very funny!
There are some fantastic walks and wonderful views of the sea and when I went for a walk to investigate on my own, I looked around and your sheepdog had followed me, she then showed me the route and kept me great company even waiting for me to catch up (as four doggy legs work better then my two human legs! ).
You are a great base for touring and we drove up to Penrhyn Castle one day, yet there is still so much to do and see in the local area too.
What more can I say, it was a fantastic, relaxing, private holiday, yet you also have company and help if you wanted it as well.
We are truly looking forward to our stay again next year.
Happy New Year to both of you and a happy and healthy 2012!
Nikki
