Melin Refurbishment

Melin, Studio Cottage on a working farmWe’ve changed things around a bit in Melin, one of our larger studio cottages here on the farm.

We’ve moved the stairs around, which will be a relief to our taller guests who kept banging their heads on a low beam half way up. We’ve also fitted a new kitchen complete with combination oven and dishwasher. But don’t worry the view is still fantastic.

Self Catering Accommodation

Self Catering BarnSelf Catering CottageWe’ve got some larger cottages here on the farm which we advertise as self catering accommodation. We’ve also started helping some friends and neighbors to advertise their self catering properties.  I’ve put a separate website together with a brief description and some photographs of each cottage. ‘Nant’ is the largest cottage we have here on the farm. There’s a king zized bed up in the eaves of the barn as well as twin beds in the ground floor bedroom. The living area downstairs has a small kitchen where we’ve tried to include everything you’ll need including a combination oven, hob and dishwasher. ‘Moelfre’, named after the mountain behind the cottage, is a one bedroom barn conversion. We’ve designed the barn with a ‘grogloft’ or sleeping deck up in the eaves of the barn. LLoft-Chimna

Sea viewsTraditional B&B en-suite room‘Lloft Chimna’ or chimney bedroom is a spacious room in the original part of our 17th century farmhouse, so called as the chimney breast from the inglenook fireplace below runs up one wall.

The bedroom has a wonderful view over the fields and out towards the Cambrian coastline and the Llyn Peninsula beyond. The room is fully en-suite and has the usual tea and coffee making facilities as well as a colour TV. We can make this room up with twin beds or a super-king double bed. So let us know your preferance when you book.

£52 – £92 per night, including breakfast. (Depending on time of year and length of stay)

Stabal-Byrdir

StabalLadder Access to Bedspace‘Stabal-Byrdir’, our converted stable is an open plan studio cottage with a kingsize bed up in the ‘grogloft’ or eaves of the barn accessed via a fixed ladder.

This is one of our more popular rooms but the ladder does mean that this studio is not suitable for guests with any mobility problems. The room is en-suite and has a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave toaster etc. There is also a colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a living flame fire. The studio has a wonderful view over the Cambrian coastline and out to the Llyn peninsula beyond, and don’t worry we’ve moved the horses out some time ago.

£55 – £96 per night. (Depending on time of year and length of stay)

‘Melin’, a converted mill, is our largest studio cottage. It’s got a double bed up in the in the ‘grogloft’ or eaves of the barn. The steps leading up to the bed deck are quite steep so may not suit people with any mobility problems. The kitchen includes a combination oven and hob as well as a fridge and dishwasher. There’s a living flame fire and colour TV in the sitting area and a great view over the Cambrian Coastline and the Llyn Peninsula beyond.

£72 – £120 per night. (Depending on time of year and length of stay)

Oak TrussesConverted BarnNant is th largest cottage we have here on the farm. There’s a king zized bed up in the eaves of the barn as well as twin beds in the ground floor bedroom. The living area downstairs has a small kitchen where we’ve tried to include everything you’ll need including a combination oven, hob and dishwasher. The oak folding doors which span the south facing gable end of the cottage can be opened up completly to make the most of the view of the fields and mountains on the far side of the brook. The underfloor heating provides more than enough heat but we’ve also installed a cast iron log burner to help create that romatic atmosphere.
