Oak TrussesConverted BarnNant is th largest cottage we have here on the farm. There’s a king zized bed up in the eaves of the barn as well as twin beds in the ground floor bedroom. The living area downstairs has a small kitchen where we’ve tried to include everything you’ll need including a combination oven, hob and dishwasher. The oak folding doors which span the south facing gable end of the cottage can be opened up completly to make the most of the view of the fields and mountains on the far side of the brook. The underfloor heating provides more than enough heat but we’ve also installed a cast iron log burner to help create that romatic atmosphere.

  1. We stayed at Nant for 4 nights in May 2011 and it what just what we needed! The converted barn is decorated beautifully and finished to a very high standard. It has been very well looked after but still has a very homely feel. There is a log fire and underfloor heating, so staying warm is not a problem. We had breakfast in the farmhouse with the other guests and found Gwion extremely helpful and friendly. There is wireless in the farmhouse and guests are encouraged to use the lounge area to access the Internet. The barn is a mile away from the main road which means it is close enough to access the nearby towns but far enough to have a peaceful rest. My only tip for other guests is to ignore sat nav if coming from Barmouth- instead turn right off the main road at the sign that says ‘Byrdir’, follow the road for a mile until you see a gate and another sign for Byrdir and open the gate to the farm. Then follow the road past the farm house until you get to a cattle grid and then turn right and follow the road round to the car park. If you follow sat nav, you will end up having to open about 7 gates to get there!!

Thank you for a lovely stay, we are highly likely to stay again!
